I’m from Lincoln originally, where I have lived at the same home with my parents and older sister for my whole life. Lincoln is a small city where everybody knows everybody! My favourite thing about Lincoln is the culture, it is always nice to have a walk around the Cathedral and the Castle.
I moved to Leeds 4 years ago for university because I wanted to experience living in a bigger city that had a lot going on and I haven’t been disappointed! There are always events and activities happening somewhere so you could never be bored.
I have recently completed my university degree and started working full-time at Shine. While I was doing my degree, I did a placement year here at Shine, so I have been with Shine for almost 3 years doing part time work in almost every department there is! I have experience in front of house, sales, café, finance and even did a bit of cleaning.
I like working at Shine because no two days are the same. There is always something different going on so you are always kept on your toes. It’s a bonus that every person within the team is great to work alongside, it makes the job so much easier!
I think the fact that Shine is a social enterprise is a selling point for most clients. It is clear that Shine has had, and continues to have, a positive impact within the community in many ways. Also, I think the friendly, first class service that we provide keeps clients loyal to us.
My main interests are music and photography. I like all kinds of music and really enjoy going to concerts and I studied photography for my GCSE’s and A-levels so have always had an interest in that.
If you’re looking for any outside catering or catered meeting spaces and conference rooms, feel free to contact Shine and we’ll be happy to help. Or, if you’re simply in the Leeds area, come and see Shine for yourself and grab something to eat in the café.
