LAUNCH YOUR BUSINESS WITH CONFIDENCE

Part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Your start-up doesn’t have to be a struggle

We know how hard it can be to start a new business and stay motivated. It can feel isolating, and learning new skills can be a challenge. And sometimes, life can just get in the way!

That’s why She Can Shine is committed to supporting the next generation of Leeds-based businesswomen.

Every month we hold regular events for new, local business owners, to help get their businesses off the ground.

Whether we’re teaching money mindset, ‘shortcut to startup’ workshops, marketing support, or a host of other topics, you’ll leave with new skills and friends after every session.

You can find out about more of our events here, and on our Eventbrite page.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED…

In 2020 Shine partnered with She Business to launch ‘She Can Shine’, in sponsorship with NatWest.

The programme was delivered to 260 businesswomen, from Sept-2020 to Dec 2022.

She Can Shine aimed to reach under-represented women in Leeds, plus any woman wanting to start a business in Yorkshire.

We inspired women to get started or grow their business through networking, inspirational stories from successful businesswomen, educational sessions, plus mentoring and funding advice from partners (and this was just the beginning!)

OUR IMPACT

Within this short space of time, we made a huge impact on the lives of new business owners:

✨260 INSPIRED Women ✨31 NEW BUSINESSES ✨43 NEW JOBS ✨2 AWARDS

We impacted the lives of 260 women: raising their aspirations, increasing their confidence, providing opportunities, and supporting their entrepreneurial journey. 31 new business were created during the programme. These included solo ideas and collaborations between members. 43 new jobs were created by the business women on the programme. And 2 women were accepted onto the NatWest Business Accelerator programme which provides mentoring, financing, and free workspace.
