Is Shine a Social Enterprise?
Yes! We are incorporated as a Community Interest Company.
Are you a community centre?
No, we run as a commercial business and re-invest our profits into Social Impact initiatives for women ex-offenders, entrepreneurs, local children, and the arts.
If you are community oriented, why do you charge community groups?
We charge competitive commercial rates for our space, and provide some free or reduced cost space to charities and community groups on a monthly basis. Our community aspirations are realised through ad hoc/ongoing support to people, monetary investment in, and connectivity for community groups.
Do you receive grants?
We do not receive regular grants, but our outdoor artwork was funded by an Arts Council grant and some initiatives we headline have an element of grant funding. The do not make up any part of our income.

We open on weekends for booked events. We may consider opening on Saturdays in the future as part of our regular service.
